I like to strike the base note on a downstroke on the first beat
followed by the bottom four strings. Alternating up and down
on Em and Em9, up only on D6/9 and Dmaj9

This is the tab as I have figured it out for "Horse With No Name" by
america. IMHO, this is closer to what is on the album "America's
greatest Hits"
It consists of two chords:

D -9--
G ---- and...

And the tab for the stumming pattern looks something like this... play
along with the disc and you will get the gist :)

Even though everyone else usually uses 4 chords and tries to do the
changes with the vocal line, if you listen to the guitar line on
"Greatest Hits", its only two chords. The first is an E minor
(the 7/9 thing)... the other is something funky... its not exactly
what they play, but its close... Hope you enjoy.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official AMERICA tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.

We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
