Divinity by Amorphis
>From the album Tuonela
Tabbed by me (majakobs@abo.fi), all my own work etc etc.
Notes:
1) Tune all guitars down one whole step (D,G,C,F,A,D)
2) Find a keyboard player and make him join yer band
3) Don't pay too much attention to my rhythms, this song swings! Play the
rhythm parts like you feel, vary them, bang yer head.
4) Figure out the leads yourself, they shouldn't be too hard as they're
melodic and tasteful, with minimal ammount of unnessecary wanking ;)
5) If you find mistakes, pat yourself on the back and play it your way!
Timing: |-1-&-2-&-3-&-4-| The |'s above the tab are rhythm slashes for
one guitar For most of the song that guitar plays rhythm with
straight power chords while the other guitar plays counter
melodies with octaves like the tabbed parts. Listen to the song
to get the rests and timings right if something in the tab seems
unclear.
Chords for rhythm slashes:
E5 F5 G5 A5 Bb5 C5 D5 Bm
022xxx 133xxx 355xxx x022xx x133xx x355xxx x0023x x2443x
Song starts with a few bars of keyboards/drums. Guitars enter at 0:34

Keyboard solo 1 (2:39)
Guitar 1 plays Rhy part 1, Guitar 2 plays the same chords, but a busier
rhythm, something like:
A5 F5 G5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|
Play 4 times, then the chorus part followed by guitar solo where rhythm
guitar plays the interlude part twice. Following that is the second
keyboard solo/outro bit where both guitars play the same thing as during
the first keyboard solo. A third guitar or the melody guitar plays some
short melodic licks. Fade out, and the song ends.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official AMORPHIS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
