ASH
OH YEAH
Tabbed by simon.reid@mail.com
A classic catchy Ash song, learn it and learn it good. I have no idea how the solo is played, and I think I might have missed out some little intricacies Tim plays after the first A in the chorus, but apart from that it sounds fine. Rock on.
INTRO:
E A C
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
E A C
G C D C
A G#
Ooooh-ahh
C#m B
Ooooh-ahh
VERSE 1:
A
On warm June evenings she would come to my house
C#m
Still in her school skirt and her summer blouse
D A
Talking too long as the night came on
A E
It was the best time of my life.
A
Her bee-stung lips, kisses sweeter than wine
C#m
Things she whispered, breathless sighs
D A
The summer air was soft and warm
A E
Her eyes were making silent demands
A C#
As her hair came undone in my hands
CHORUS:
E A C
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
E A C
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
BRIDGE:
A G#
Ooooh-ahh
C#m B
Ooooh-ahh
VERSE 2:
(chords as VERSE 1)
Driving her home after midnight
It felt so good everything was alright
Her thoughts seemed lost in the night sky
I remember everything
I don't know why these things ever end
I sometimes wish it was that summer again
I still see her in my sleep
And hear the sighing of the summer wind
Still I don't regret one thing
REPEAT CHORUS
BRIDGE
SOLO OVER VERSE CHORDS (This would take days for me to work out)
CHORUS 2:
E A C
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
E A C
Oh yeah, she was taking me over
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
G C D C
It felt just like like it was the start of forever.
G C D C
And oh yeah, it was the start of the summer.
BRIDGE (end on E)
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official ASH tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
