Official BEN FOLDS FIVE Tablature & Sheet Music »
"Fair" by Ben Folds Five
Tabbed by Tim Swan
Verse one
Just hold this high "A" (Bend it a little if sounds out of tune) In
the live versions of this song he rests during the verses
D-19-
or If you wanted to you could hit the harmonic,
D-7-
Chorus "Ba baada ba" 4x
G------------------
D------------------
A---2---7--5-----5-
E-0---5------5-3---
Verse 2 -
The same as verse one except he plays with it a little here. He bends
the string in places and moves it around. Just listen to the song for
the changes.
Chorus - The same
Just be for the bridge he plays...
E-5-0-5-0-5-0-5-5--5-0-5-0-5-0-5-5--5-0-5-0-5-0-5-5--5-0-5-0-5-0-5-5
Bridge- "All this breathing in..."
Play this a few times.
G----------------------------------------77-77-777-77--
D---5---55----5---55----5---55----5---55---------------
A------------------------------------------------------
E-3---3-----3---3-----3---3-----3---3------------------
I know for a fact this part is wrong. I think the notes are correct for the most part but the rythm is way off. You'll have to listen and adjust it to where I have made any errors.
Verse 3 - He hits the high "A" and an octave below it (E-17-). Listen
as to where.
Chorus
The End
"Am I right?"
G-----------------------------
D-----------------------------
A-----------------------------
E-5-0-5-0-5-0-5-0-5-0-5-0-5-0-
The Upright bass part
There is an upright bass that plays at the same time as the electric
bass. It only plays during the verses. The last verse is played in
four eigth notes instead of just the two quater notes.
G-------------------------
D-------------------------
A-----5-5-----5-5-----5-5-
E-5-5-----5-5-----5-5-----

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official BEN FOLDS FIVE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
