CAN'T FIND MY WAY HOME By Steve Winwood From Blind Faith
The original recording uses a second overdubbed guitar track to fill
in various rhythms and riffs thus making playing CFMWH solo a
daunting but not impossible task.
The basic picking pattern below forms the foundation for everything
else. Get the basic picking pattern down cold then add in whatever
flourishes and riffs that you can squeeze in.
Play with a pronounced syncopation in the rhythm. Emphasize the
first bass note in each measure, picking the second bass note of
each measure lightly, if at all.
h = hammer on, p = pull off
Basic picking pattern:

D7sus G
Come down off your throne
Gm/Bb D
And leave your body alone
F G D
Somebody must change
You are the reason
I've been waiting so long
Somebody holds the key
G A Asus D Dsus D
Well I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
Em G F#m Em D
And I'm wasted and I can't find my way home
Come down own your own
And leave your money at home <- lyrics on album jacket but...
..."And leave your body alone"
is sung on the album.
Somebody must change
You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years
Somebody holds the Key
I'm near the end and I just ain't got the time
Oh and I'm wasted and I can't find my way home
Repeat the following using the chords from the first verse,
ending on a D major:
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
But I can't find my way home
Still I can't find my way home
And I aint done nothing wrong
But I can't find my way home

Notes on chords:
The opening chord is a D7sus missing the fifth. This resolves naturally
into the following G chord.
The chord in the third measure is an inversion of a Gm with the flatted
third in the bass.
The two suspended chords in the chorus are very important as they lead
the progression into the chords that follow.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official BLIND FAITH tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
