BUTTERFLY - CANDLEBOX
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tabbed by Baz
tune down 1/2 step
this is my version of BUTTERFLY i think these are all the parts played in
the song but if you find a part that i missed let me know and i'll figure
it out.I figured it out on a guitar wich was tuned down 1/2 step... so you'll
have to tune it down or play everything one fret down)
I got the intro from someone else (RYAN_S@prodigy.com (HAMER LARRY R SEILHAMER))
but i play it a little different...... i don't know if it is the correct way to
play it but it sounds pretty close..... if anyone has any corrections let me
know:
e-mail:9250128@bn.fnt.hvu.nl
www: http://huizen.dds.nl/~cndlebox
Intro: (4) means heavy mute (listen to the cd)
e|--------------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------------|
G|-------(6)---------(6)---------(4)---------(4)----|
D|----(4)---(4)---(4)---(4)---(3)---(3)---(3)---(3)-|
A|-(5)---------(5)---------(4)---------(4)----------|
E|--------------------------------------------------|
e|--------------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------------------|
G|-------(6)---------(6)-------------0--------|
D|----(4)---(4)---(4)---(4)--------2---2---2--|
A|-(5)---------(5)-------------2---------2----|
E|---------------------------0----------------|
OKAY i realise that this isn't the way to play the intro..... and it also isn't
complete.... so if you know better please tab it out and mail it here... coz
this is wrong.... and i can't seem to get it right.....
Now for the next part.... I am pretty sure the strumming patterns are no
correct! You know how the song goes so just play it so it feels right!
e|---------------------------------------------|->
B|---------------------------------------------|->
G|---5--5--5-5-5-5/9---9---9--9-/10--10-10--9--|->
A|-6--6--6-6-6-6/10--10--10-10\8--8-8-8\10--10-10-|->
E|-4--4--4-4-4-4/8---8---8--8-\6--6-6-6\8---8--8--|->
A|-6--6--6-6-6-6/10--10---10-11-10-10-|
E|-4--4--4-4-4-4/8---8----8--9--8--8--|
Then it goes back to the intro 'muted' part
When playing the intro part he slides up the e fret like this:
E:-/19b\-| b=full bend.. (i'm not sure if it's 19 or something else)
Then it's the same again with the next part at the end instead of the part
obove :
e|--------------------------------------|----|----|----|------------------|
B|--------------------------------------|----|----|----|------------------|
G|-5--5--5-5-5-5/9---9----9--9--9--9--9-|-10-|-9--|-10-|-9--9--9--9--9----|
D|-6--6--6-6-6-6/10--10---10-10-10-10-10|-11-|-10-|-11-|-10-10-10-10-10---|
A|-6--6--6-6-6-6/10--10---10-10-10-10-10|-11-|-10-|-11-|-10-10-10-10-10---|
E|-4--4--4-4-4-4/8---8----8--8--8--8--8-|-9--|-8--|-9--|-8--8--8--8--8----|
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's it as far as the different parts go.... what you see above is very
wrong!!!! he changes between the 8th and the 9th fret far more than it sais
and the rythm is wrong too!! the chords are correct though but it was not
possible to tab this part out correct... it all would have been the same anyway
so i advise you to listen to the song very closely before you try to play this
part (this part starts at 2.34 (with the intro played throug it))
End
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official CANDLEBOX tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
