COUNTING CROWS - "long december2" Tablature
Official COUNTING CROWS Tablature & Sheet Music »
Okay everyone, I devised a little scheme to make this song a little
easier to play. This is what you do:
Drop the song a half step without tuning you're guitar different.
The chords of the song, F Bb Gm C
become the chords E A F#m and B
Now put a capo on the first fret and play it in the dropped key.
This eliminates two bar chords and adds one, but makes for a lot less
moving around with bars. Overall it just makes it a little easier on the
wrists. The goes as follows.
Capo 1st fret
Intro: E A F#m A E A F#m
Verse:
A E B F#m
A long December and there's reason to believe
A E A
Maybe this year will be better than the last
F#m A E B
I can't remember the last thing that you said
F#m
as you were leavin'
E A
Now the days go by so fast
E A F#m A
And it's one more day up in the canyons
E A F#m A
And it's one more night in Hollywood
E A F#m -stop- E
If you think that I could be forgiven...I wish you would
A F#m A ....
na na na na. . .
The smell of hospitals in winter
And the feeling that it's all a lot of oysters, but no pearls
All at once you look across a crowded room
To see the way that light attaches to a girl
And it's one more day up in the conyons
And it's one more night in Hollywood
If you think you might come to California...I think you should
Drove up to the Hillside Manor sometime after two a.m.
And talked a little while about the year
I guess the winter makes you laugh a little slower
Makes you talk a little lower about
the things you could not show her
And it's been a long December and there's reason to believe
Maybe this year will be better than the last
I can't remember all the times I tried to tell myself
To hold on to these moments as they pass
And it's been one more day up in the canyon
And it's one more night in Hollywood
It's been so long since I've seen the ocean...I guess I should

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official COUNTING CROWS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
