This is my third tab which was sent to OLGA. Now, this's an old song
which has been around for like 3-4 years? Anyway, was playing the CD
on my long bus ride home when I suddenly felt that this's a god damm
nice song. When I reached home, I immediately look for the tab.
Although I found 1 but it was not correct. No ownership is found in
the tab but here is it, just in case you wanna compare -
C - C - Am - Em.
So I spent around 2 hours tabbing this one out from scratch. Enjoy.
Rhythm chords are in this manner -
F - F - Dm - C
(Repeated through the whole song - Cranberries's trademark)
Verse:
F F Dm C
There was...............so lonely (Away)
F F Dm C
Remember................a Friday. (Away)
Intro/Verse:
F F Dm C
E-|--------1-----------1-----------1-----------0--------|
B-|------1---1-------1---1-------3---3-------1---1------|
G-|----2-------2---2-------2---2-------2---0-------0----|
D-|--3-----------3-----------0-----------2--------------|
A-|-----------------------------------------------------|
E-|-----------------------------------------------------|
This riff is played through the whole song expect the chorus.
Chorus:
F F
E-|-1--1---------------+-1----1-------------------------|
B-|-1----1-------------+-1------1--- This is played at -|
G-|-2------------------+-2--2------- the end of each -|
D-|-3------------------+-3---------- chorus verse. -|
A-|--------------------+--------------------------------|
E-|- M A I N R I F F -+--------------------------------|
The chorus is a bit tricky, you must listen to the song
carefully to get the timing. The rhythm chords is still
the same but the lead guitar is holding F throughout.
It may sound difficult performing this part but basically
you strum the F chord from your D to High-E before
plucking the "F" and "C" notes. Well, the chorus tab
might not be 100% correct but it is definitely close.
- CD Timing for the first chorus -
00:58 - Start of chorus
00:59 - Start of the F strum
01:01 - Start of the F strum
01:03 - Start of the F strum
01:05 - Start of the F strum
As you can see its at ABOUT a 2 sec interval.
You should get the rhythm by now, if you can't, listen
to this part a few times.
---------------------------------------------------
That's basically all to this song. Simple and nice.
Anyone care to tab out the bass?

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official CRANBERRIES tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
