You’ve gotta look up , don’t look down on me
Yeah !
G F G F
Just respecting me won’t keep you alive
G F G F
All the tricks you pulled and those you tried
Chorus
I wake up in the morning and it’s a quarter to five
I’m breathing deep to tell me I’m still alive
Fo-fo-for selling education and make a monkey out of me
If I hang around any longer I’ll be walled up then
D D F C
If I don’t fit for your invitation
I don’t meet your expectation
If you own the talk the man’s to be treated
D C
Just give me one in five
You’ve gotta look up , don’t look down on me (repeat 4 times)
Don’t look down on me !
Solo : G / C / F / F (repeat 8 times)
F G#
Man you destroyed all you can
C D F
Ain’t nothing left for you to do now
G# C C
Ooooh, Aaaah
He hanged around the streets where I come from
They said she calls ‘cause they’re angry I’m singing my song
One man speaks in her hears, another talk us fun
Oh how these around me are now on the show
If I don’t fit for your invitation
I don’t meet your expectation
If you own the talk the man’s to be treated
Just give me one in five
You’ve gotta look up , don’t look down on me (repeat 4 times)
Don’t look down on me !
Don’t look down on me !
Don’t look down on me !
Don’t look down on me !
Fade out.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official DODGY tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
