riff 2 (ad lib)
\-------------/
\-------------/
\-9--7--5~7~5-/
\-------------/
\-------------/
\-------------/
the old get old the young get stronger
may take a week, may take longer
they got the guns, but we got the numbers
gonna win, yeah, we're taking over
COME ON!
solo
this solo really kicks. the opening riff was borrowed by
pearl jam and can also be seenin the "alive" solo. Mike
Mccready just moved the riff down on the fretboard
(to start on E).
it is in an Am pentatonic
the start is
\-20^-17----------------------------------------------------------
\----------20^-17-------------------------------------------------
\-------------------17-19-------17----17--19--19^-19^-19^-17-19-17
\-------------------------17-19----19-----------------------------
\-----------------------------------------------------------------
\-----------------------------------------------------------------
the rest is just playing around with that scale
then back to riff 1
your ballroom days are over baby
night is crawling near
shadows of the evening
crawl across the year
you walk across the floor
with a flower in your hand
trying to tell me no one understand
trading your dollars for a hand full of dimes
gonna make it baby, in our prime
get together 1 more time
with another solo

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official DOORS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
