Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding
Original Artist: ELton John
Cover: Dream Theater
transcribed by: Mike Jones
Alright, here's the deal with this song. I looked all over the net for the tabs to the dream theater version, and never found anything. So, i sat down for a couple of hours and decided to tab it out myself. This is just the first four minutes and fifty seconds, and that includes the piano intro at the beginning. I'm pretty sure it's all correct except for a couple labeled parts. So, if you like this, or need any clarification, or
if i did something wrong, or whatever the hell is going on, e-mail me. belikemike911@netscape.net
have fun
(side note: this is all my own work, so don't going around trying to make lawsuits because it's not used with somebody's permission.)

volume swells. i prefer just to hammer on without picking when the volume's set at zero, and just do the volume control with the picking hand.

that's all for the intro. i'm missing the little part at the beggining between 1:10 and 1:27. i got the basic idea, but it ain't perfect. it revolves around the 15, 17, and 19 frets on both the e and b string. if you need this part, just e-mail me. i'll have it down in a bit.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official DREAM THEATER tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
