This is the first time I have ever written down one of the
tabs that I've figured out, so if some parts seem sorta of rough don't
blame me....OK??? But, this sounds pretty much perfect except for the
interlude part so, don't worry.
First off this song is in drop D tuning (if you don't know what that
means all it is, is the standard tuning, with the low E string tuned down
two semitones to D-it makes power chords even easier believe it or not!!)
Intro/Outro-this is also played in between the chorus and verses
e|--------------------------------|
B|--------------------------------|
G|--------------------------------|repeat this part 4 times
d|0-0-6-0-0-6-0-0-2h3-0-0-6-0-0-3-|each time its played
A|0-0-6-0-0-6-0-0-2h3-0-0-6-0-0-3-|
D|0-0-6-0-0-6-0-0-2h3-0-0-6-0-0-3-|
Verse: There really isn't any guitar work during the verse. To substitute
for guitar work just mute the strings up around the fifth or sixth fret,
and as for the strumming pattern use the drum beat (if you can keep up the
pace!!!). If you don't like how that sounds, simply omit it, it'll sound
kind of empty, but it'll do.
Prechorus:
e|------------------------------|
B|------------------------------|
G|------------------------------|repeat this 3 times
d|0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-3h5-3-|
A|0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-3h5-3-|
D|0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-0-0-3h5-3h5-3-|
Chorus: the 8--5--0 part might be played all the time (in stead of using
the 8--5--7). But the 8--5--7 does go well with the song even if it really
isn't in the song.
e|------------------|
B|------------------|
G|------------------|repeat 3 times each chorus
d|8--5--0---8--5--7-|
A|8--5--0---8--5--7-|
D|8--5--0---8--5--7-|
Interlude: this is the only part of song that I'm not sure as to
whether or not its right, it sounds right though, but i'm still not
positive-mostly because of all the cool synthesizer work in the
backround. Sometime during the interlude you can faintly hear the
prechorus, while Trevor is singing I could love you, I could love you,
I could love you, I could love you a lot...yeah!!!
e|------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------|
G|------------------------------------|repeat this several
d|----------------------10h12---0-0-3-|times
A|------------------------------0-0-3-|
D|0-0-10h12-0-0-10h12-0-------0-0-0-3-|
That is basically all the guitar work in the song.
Now for the lyrics and where these guitar sequences fit in.

you can't always pick the dog you find
maybe I wasn't what you had in mind
PreChorus

I could love you a lot...yeah

'cause I can't seem seem to understand the way I feel

if I wasn't here I wouldn't mind
but it's you up there and I'm so far behind

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official ECONOLINE CRUSH tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
