EELS - "dead of winter" Tablature
Official EELS Tablature & Sheet Music »
Artist:Eels
Title:Dead of Winter
Album:Electro-shock blues
Tabbed by Callum Innes, Doncaster England - 30.6.01
This is one of my favourite eels songs, if not THE favourite. It's best done on
the acoustic, as it is done on the album.
C G F Dsus2
Standing in the dark outside the house
Breathing in the cold and sterile air
F Am
And I was thinking how it must feel
Em Dsus2
To see that little light
F Am
And watch it as it dissapears
Em
And fades into
G
And fades into the night
C G F Dsus2
So I know you're going pretty soon
Radiation sore throat got your tongue
F Am
Magic markers tattoo you
Em Dsus2
And show it where to aim
F Am
And stranger break their promises
Em
You won't feel any
G
You won't feel any pain.
C F
And the streets are jammed with cars
Rockings their horns
To the race to the wire
F C G
Of the unfinished line
C G F Dsus2
Thought that I'd forget all about the past
But it doesn't let me run too fast
F Am
And I just want to stand outside
Em Dsus2
And know that this is right
F
And this is true
Am
And I will not
Em
Fade into
G
Fade into the night
C F
Standing her in the dark
And that just about it.
Cheers!

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official EELS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
