I´m sure the chords are alright ´cause I´ve seen him play this song live on mtv2.
The lyrics are taken from an original booklet, so.....here they are!
E C
She smelled like flowers, she tastes like toffee
E C
She kissed me slowly, she held me softly
E C
Got too close and she backed up off me
E C
Left me stone cold sober, just like black coffee
E C
Just like black coffee
E C
She told me that she´d always been thinkin´ of me
She said she wanted me to know that she really did love me
She said she never put no one else above me
Except her monkey, she´s like a junkie, just like a junkie, just like a junkie
Just like a junkie
It was April 25th, it´s up around 80
Found a spot out in the park where the grass is shady
She said her mom´s from Jamaica, her father´s from Haiti
She´s such a pretty lady, she´s such a lady
She smelled like flowers, she tastes like toffee
She kissed me slowly, she held me softly
Got too close and she backed up off me
Left me stone cold sober, just like black coffee
Just like black coffee, just like black coffee
Just like black coffee
In the ends are a small changes throughout the whole song, ya know; in these parts just cut off the end of the riff...
A great song by a great artist. No comments!
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official EVERLAST tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
