Official FRED EAGLESMITH Tablature & Sheet Music »
Song: 105
Band: Fred Eaglesmith and the Flying Squirrels
Tabbed by: The Swinger
(Key of B, played from open E position with capo at 7th fret)
E - E7 (repeat)
E - E7
Streak of lightning coming down the highway
Turn around and watch it go
Switch on the lights, turn on the high beams
Better find a preacher on the radio
A - A7
I like to drive at a hundred and five, it's just how fast I gotta go
E - E7
I got the gears and I got the motor, ain't no reason to go slow
A - A7
I like the speed, I like the motion, I like the rockin' machine.
E - E7
I like to drive at a hundred and five, better hurry up if you want to catch me.
Neon signs a-streaking by like something in your eye.
Elvis on the radio almost makes you cry.
Flashing lights in the rear view you don't pay them any mind.
Step on the gas, pull out to pass, leave them far behind.
I like to drive at a hundred and five, it's just how fast I gotta go
I got the gears and I got the motor, ain't no reason to go slow
I like the speed, I like the motion, I like the rockin' machine.
I like to drive at a hundred and five, better hurry up if you want to catch me.
Better hurry up if you want to catch me.
(First four lines of verse done instrumentally)
You shouldn't oughta done it honey, you shouldn't oughta run around
But two can be on that highway darlin', and I'm the one who's out there now.
I like the speed, I like the motion, I like the rockin' machine.
I like to drive at a hundred and five, better hurry up if you want to catch me.
Better hurry up if you want to catch me. Better hurry up if you want to catch me.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official FRED EAGLESMITH tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
