This is a very intense emotionally driven song to play and sing, one of my
favorites, but the cool thing is, it's very easy.
Intro chording:
G D Am
Eb--3-----2-------0--
Bb--0-----3-------1--
Gb--0-----2-------2--
Db--0-----0-------2--
Ab--2-------------0--
Eb--3-------------0--
The acustic guitar played in the background during the opening verse is those
three chords arpeggiated, starting with Am over the part "Memories.....them"
G from "Drank.....dead" D from "What......find" etc
over the chorus its G strumed from "Don't.....away" D from "leave....to"
Am behind "myself" until it reapeats over again in the same order. those are
really the only three chords used, in case you didn't notice, it sounds
better down a half step.
And by the power invested in me by the great state of Musickind, I do declare
this is all my own work and not the work of any publishing company or anyone
other than David Shenefelt of St Louis MO RDDSL@aol.com Long live Stir.
I've posted a few of their tabs, and if you like, check them out too.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official FUEL tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
