I had posted this before, but it never made it into ftp.nevada.edu, so I
don't know how far the posting got. I see, though, that someone else has a
transcription there, but mine's transcribed from a different source.

Willin'
(Lowell George)
Notes:
I transcribed it from the version on Little Feat's _Sailin' Shoes_.
- Standard tuning.
- 4/4 time and 2/4 wherever the measure begins with an "!".
Lowercase letters are notes (c b a), not worth tabbing.

Intro:

|<5> |<6> |G(1) |
|<1> |<2>
I've been warped by the rain, driven by the snow;
|<3> |<4>
I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know,
|<5> |<6> |G(1) |
and I'm still willin'.
|<1> |<2>
And I was out on the road, late at night,
|<3> |<4>
I seen my pretty Alice in every headlight,
|<5> |<6> |G
Alice, Dallas Alice.
|C(2) |D
And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari,
| |G(1)
Tahachapi to Tonapah.
| ! |C |
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made,
| ! |D
driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed.
|Tacet |c b a |G(1)
And if you give me weed, whites, and wine,
| |D
and you show me a sign
| |G(1) |<6>
I'll be willin' to be movin'.
(Intro) x2
Well, I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet,
had my head stove in, but I'm still on my feet
and I'm still willin'.
I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico;
baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico;
and I'm still...
And I've been from Tuscon to Tucumcari,
Tahachapi to Tonapah.
I've driven every kind of rig that's ever been made;
driven the back roads so I wouldn't get weighed.
And if you give me weed, whites, and wine,
and you show me a sign
and I'll be willin' to be movin'.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official GEORGE LOWELL tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
