How Did We Get From Saying I Love You
Intro: G D A D G D A D
D G D G
It's a cold day for September was all I thought to say
D G A D G A
When I saw you on the street the other day
D G D G
I knew something's changed between us, all the talk we made was small
D G D G A
But what do you say to someone when they've heard you say it all?
Bm A G A
It's an awkward conversation, in a most peculiar way
Chorus
G D A
How did we get from saying I love you to I'll see you around someday
GDAD (x 2)
It seemed like only days ago, we had so much to say
Did we take it all for granted, did it all get thrown away
"It calls for rain this afternoon", you finally replied
And there was a stuttering silence, that I felt my mouth go dry
We'll just talk about the weather, cause there's not much more to say
Chorus (x2)
G D A D
How did we get from saying I love you to I'll see you around someday
G D A
How did we get from saying I love you to I'll see you around someday
GDAD (x2)
G D
Has all the ice been broken,
A D
all our surfaces been scratched
G D
Have all the words been spoken,
A D
have we finally met our match?
A Bm A G A
Cause it's an awkward coversation, in a most peculiar way
Chorus (x3)
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official GREAT BIG SEA tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
