"Love Alive" by Heart
>From the album Little Queen
Transcribed by Jeff Vick (Vicktory@aol.com)
May 30, 2002
Part of the beauty of this song is that there are 2
distinct guitar parts which blend together seamlessly
with harmonized riffs and different voicings of the same
chord, including a lot of voicings using open strings.
The two parts are here noted separately assuming it will
be played as a duet. If you play it solo, mix and match
your favorite bits.
On the album the 2 guitars are well separated left and
right. It sounds like they used two acoustic guitars
(or 1 acoustic, 1 steel guitar), but an acoustic for
guitar one and an electric set clean for guitar 2 works
well also. The electric really helps to make the harmonics
pop out.
I have not attempted to indicate the rhythm.
Symbols used include:
h = hammer on
p = pull off
<x> = natural harmonic above fret x
/ = slide up to next note
\ = slide down to next note
x = mute, do not play

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP, representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are "hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the official HEART tablature which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route. These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the NY Times Article. We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
