Bb Eb(9) F Eb(9)

Bb Eb(9) F Eb(9)
i don't usually talk to you.
Bb Eb(9) F Eb(9)
but my baby's gonna leave me, and there's something you must do.
Bb Eb(9) F Eb(9)
F Gm7 Gm9
i am not your faithful servant, I hang around
Eb(9) F Gm7 Gm9
sometimes with a bunch of your black sheep,
Ab Eb Cm7(4)
but if you make my baby stay, i'll make it up to you
Cm7 Fsus A7sus D7 Gm9 F7
ItÕs a promise I will keep.
(repeats)
hey jesus, it's me.
I'm the one who talked to you yesterday
Asked you please, please for a favor.
But my baby's gone away.
went away anyway
and i don't really think its fair.
you've got the power to make us all believe in you.
and then we call you in despair,
and you don't come through.
hey jesus, it's me, I'm sorry.
I don't remember all I said.
I had a few, no, too many
and they went straight to my head.
Made me feel like i could argue with god.
but you know, it's easy for you.
you got friends all over the world.
you had the whole world waiting for your birth.
but now i ain't got nobody
Cm7 F7 Am D7
I don't know what my life's worth.
i'm not gonna call you anymore.
I'm sure you've got a million things to do.
all i was trying to do was to get through to you,
get through to you.
Ôcause when i die and i get up to your doors,
i don't even know if you're gonna let me in the place.
Cm7
how come i gotta die to get a chance to talk to you
F7 Am D7 Gm9 F7 Fsus Bb
face to face?

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official INDIGO GIRLS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
