From: arabella@mail.utexas.edu (Arabella Clauson)
Song: "I'm Not Ready" (JACKOPIERCE)
Album: Woman As Salvation (Rhythmic Records, 1992)
Track: 5
Intro and Verses:
G C D C Am C D C
I believe the 4th C is played x32010, while the rest are x32033
Chorus:
Am C D
You say there is no other who treats you like I do
But I've talked to your father and mother
They both say it's through
Your heading back to the east coast
In a brand new car
All my letters returned unopened
Just to see how you are
As you say
Why can't we be friends
Because I'm not ready
You say the world isn't over
It's just a different place
Though you're no longer around me
You send pain by the case
And I guess this thing wasn't working
So ending it was best
But I just can't seem to maneuver
This weight off my chest
Why can't we be
Why can't we be....we be friends
Because I'm not ready
You say there is no other who treats you like I do
But I've found myself with another
And you've found someone else too
The pain is now in recession
And lucid are my thoughts
The you whisper for me to come closer
And it seems like you forgot that you said
Why can't we be friends
Why must this be the end

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official JACKOPIERCE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
