Artist: Journey
Song: Wheel in the Sky
Tabbed by: Paul Delgado (sitar5@unm.edu)
Key Signature: D minor
Ok. here's the pattern of the song:
Intro
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Verse (during solo)
Chorus
Intro:
This is the single-note-at-a-time version of the intro.
The actual intro probably plays two or three notes per
strike, but this is close enough.
e|------------------------------------------------------
b|-6----8-10----8p6-5----3--6p5--3h5--------------------
g|------------------------------------------------------
d|------------------------------------------------------
a|------------------------------------------------------
e|------------------------------------------------------
Verse riff:
If you know how to play the riff off of Eric
Clapton's "Layla", you can pretty much
play this one with no trouble at all.
Just repeat this riff until you get to the
chorus:
e|------------------------------------------------------
b|------------------------------------------------------
g|------------------------------------------------------
d|-----3----0-----------0h3----0------------------------
a|-0h3--------------0h3---------------------------------
e|------------------------------------------------------
Chorus:
I'm not too certain about the chorus part, but as far as I
can tell, it's kinda like the intro. So, my best estimate
of the chorus would be (off the top of my head, no guitar
in front of me):
Dm F Dm
wheel in the sky...
Am C Am
don't know where I'll...

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official JOURNEY tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
