I have only managed to figure out some bits of this so far. If you get any bits
that aren't here please mail them to me and add to my education:
Intro Riff:
e|----------------------------
B|----1-----1------1------3---
G|---2-2---2--2---2--2---4-4--
D|--------------0------2------ <----These notes are actually played on bass,
A|-0-----2-------------------- <----but if you're playing alone you need them.
E|----------------------------
|----------------------------------
|----1-----1------1----5--3--1-----
|---2-2---2--2---2--2-----------2--
|--------------0-------2-----------
|-0-----2--------------------------
|----------------------------------
After that there is a kind of plucking riff which I can't figure out.
Then the main verse riff is like(get your own timings):
Em--palm mute-| D----|
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
G|--------------------------------------------------------------------2-2-2----
D|--5--5-5-5-5-5-5--4--4-5-4-0-2-2-2-2-2-2---2-2-2-2--4-4-5-4-4-4-0-0-0-0-0----
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The solo at the end of the first verse is something like:
e|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B|--5^-5^-5^5p3h5--3-5--3-5--3-5--3-5^-3-------2-3-3-3-3-3--2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3----
G|---------------------------------------0----------------------------------0-0
D|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
A|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
This then goes back to the verse riff.
Then there is the second solo at the end of the second verse(get own timings):
e|------------------------------------------------------------------
B|--5^-5^-5^5p3h5--3-5--3-5--3-5--3-5^-3-----2-3-3-3-3-3--2-3-3-3-3- ^=bend
G|---------------------------------------0-------------------------- h=hammer
D|------------------------------------------------------------------ -on
A|------------------------------------------------------------------ p=pull-off
E|------------------------------------------------------------------
e|--------------------------------------------------------
B|-5^5^5^5^5^5^---2-3-3-3-3-3--2-3-3-3-3-3-3-3------------
G|---------------------------------------------0-0-0-0-0--
D|--------------------------------------------------------
A|--------------------------------------------------------
E|--------------------------------------------------------
G F# E D E D E
e|-----------------------------------------
B|-----------------------------------------
Then there is a bit of a G|--7--7-7-7--6--6-6-6--4-4-2-4--4-4-4-2-4-
power chord fill. Play the D|--5--5-5-5--4--4-4-4--2-2-0-2--2-2-2-0-2-
chords where ever you want. A|-----------------------------------------
E|-----------------------------------------
Then the guitar plays a simplified version of the verse riff.
If you got to here you can manage the outro.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official JOY DIVISION tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
