Formentera Lady
King Crimson
Album: Islands
This one has a bunch of different instruments, but this is my
play-along version.
Intro is done on cello, I believe. Here are the notes
on guitar an octave higher. These are also the notes
for the vocal line of the verses.

Word painting (sing these or simply repeat "Lofty Early 70's Lyrics"
to the melody ;^))
Houses iced in whitewash guard a pale shoreline
Cornered by the cactus and the pine
Here I wander where sweet sage and strange herbs grow
Down a sunbaked crumpled stoney road
Dusty wheeels leaning rusting in the sun
Snuff brown walls where spanish lizards run (KC liked these critters!)
Here I'm shadowed by a dragon fig tree's fan
Ringed by ants and musing over man
I'll unwind my old strings
While the stars shine down
Won't climb any high thing
While the stars shine
Formetera Lady sing your song for me
Formetera Lady sweet lover
Lamplight glows on old guitarsthe travellers strum
Inscense children dance to an indian drum
Here Odysseus charm-ed for dark Cercie fell
Still her perfume lingers still her spell
Time's gray hand won't catch me
While the stars shine down
Untie and unlatch me
While the stars shine
Formentera Lady dance your dance for me
Formetera Lady, dark lover

Go, little record go! - Pixies
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official KING CRIMSON tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
