"Ivy, Ivy"
(Michael Brown - Tom Feher)
Intro:
nylon-string guitar (detuned whole-step):
[Note: this can be counted in 4/4 - it even works out to an integral
number of bars - but I found that bar lines were more of a hindrance
than a help in phrasing it properly.]

Verse 1:
(Dm)
You swear that it's always love
But it's not there or there's not enough
Bm D/A
Ivy, Ivy
Gmaj7 C/G
Ivy, when will you learn
Gmaj7 C/G
That love cannot exist on lies
Gmaj7 C/G
You only get what you earn
Gmaj7 A
It's right before your eyes
G [N.C.]
Oh, Ivy (Ivy)
[repeat intro]
Verse 2:
You can't make goodbye distrust
Your love lying under dust
You must see, Ivy
Ivy, how can you live
On hurting those that love you
And hiding what you've got to give
To fight something you must prove
Oh, Ivy (Ivy)
[repeat intro; fade]
-- another ace 60's tab from Andrew Rogers
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official LEFT BANKE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
