MARDUK
"On darkened wings" from "Those of the unlight" album
08.02.2001
from Cheroubin
I think, the best song on this album, horrorful riffs and special
embellis= hments, one of my favourities...
1.Intro. I really don't know, what teqnique was used here but I think, it i=
s something like this, all in strange vibrato:
E-|------------------------|
B-|------------------------|
G-|------------------------| until thunder comes...
D-|------------------------|
A-|-5----6--3--5---6--3--5-|
E-|------------------------|
2.Then enjoy main riff, just a part of verse's entrails.
E-|------------|------------------|
B-|------------|------------------|
G-|-7--7--8--5-|-7--7--8--5-/-8-7-|
D-|-7--7--8--5-|-7--7--8--5-/-8-7-|
A-|-5--5--6--3-|-5--5--6--3-/-6-5-|
E-|------------|------------------|
3.After this, comes another riff, the octave maybe is wrong. Notes are in t=
hrill, I think. Let's call it G-riff.
E-|----------------------|
B-|----------------------|
G-|----------------------|
D-|----------------------|
A-|-10---10---11---11-12-|
E-|----8----8----9-------|
filled by:
G-|-----------------|
B-|-----------------| (bass guitar's riff; I have never played
A-|-3-3-3-3-4-4-5-6-| at bass, cool, isn't it?)
E-|-----------------|
4.Then, comes next riff. How about G#-riff?
E-|-------------|
B-|-------------|
G-|-------------|
D-|----11-10----| 4 times
A-|-11-------10-|
E-|-------------|
5.Here we've got an ecstatic part, God almighty! how they are ingenious!! B=
ow to their knees, infidel ancestries!!!
I can't make it! I know just, that it's: D# E E D#
Help!!! please send me your version on
cheroubin@poczta.onet.pl
thank you
maybe, I say, maybe, it's:
1 2 3 4
E-|----------------------------------------------------|
B-|----------------------------------------------------|
G-|----------------------------------------------------| bass guitar
D-|12-----------13------------13-----------12----------| with some
A-|--12----(x3)---13----(x3)----13----(x3)---12---(x3)-| organ sounds
E-|----10-----------11------------11-----------10------|
but I am very far from full certainty...
6.This is very complex part. So with bass part, I hear strong guitar fill, =
that is:
1 2 3 4 4
E-|----------------|--------| |--------------------|
B-|----------------|--------| and second time |--------------------|
G-|-8----8-----9---|-9-11/9-| |-9-8/11\9\8-cleaner-|
D-|-8----8-----9---|-9-11/9-| |-9-8/11\9\8---tone--|
A-|-6----6-----7---|-7--9/7-| |-7-6/-9\7\6---here--|
E-|----------------|--------| |--------------------|
and some other sounds: ^
1 2 3 4 ^
E-|-----------------------| ^
B-|-----------------------| <- so first this part, then this part
G-|------------------3--4-|
D-|-----------------------|
A-|-----------------------|
E-|-----------------------|
further with drums, still with bass part, all ends with D#
7.After very short pause, comes the most agressive part, first only electri=
c guitar, then come drums with bass guitar.
E-|---------------------------|
B-|---------------------------|
G-|-6-6666-6/7\6--------------| play it very fast
D-|-6-6666-6/7\6-5-5555-5/6\5-|
A-|-4-4444-4/5\4-5-5555-5/6\5-|
E-|--------------3-3333-3/4\3-|
8.Here is the G-solo filled by G-riff, I transcribed earlier. It is too har=
d, alas, for me. What a pity!
9.Here, we've got G#-riff
10.And here, new riff.
E-|----------------------|
B-|----------------------|
G-|----------------------| several times with strong thrill
D-|----------------------|
A-|-10---13---11---13/14-|
E-|----------------------|
11.To slay into This Stimulating-My-Senses-Part. Enriched this time in thre=
e tones, those I wrote here, just look:
E-|--------------|
B-|--------------|
G-|--------------| all in strange teqnique
D-|--------------|
A-|-10-----12-13-|
E-|--------------|
12.Here we have the part, that I called agressive one (look point 6; with v=
ery small changes). Ending with D#, let it ring.
13.Uff, that was hard, four hours of work, yeah, it was good, enjoy and wai=
t for another Cheroubin's (my) Marduk's transcriptions (especially "Dark en=
dless"). Look for my Offspring's tabs, too.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official MARDUK tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
