"It's because I love you"
by Master's Apprentices
This is a pretty good outline of the different parts to this old song.
Any corrections and especially the rest of the lyrics are welcome.
These tabs a for a six string, but playing them on a twelve string would make ita hell of a lot easier.
There are 3 main riffs and an easy set of chorus chords:
riff 1 riff 2
|--------------|------------------------|
|--10-9--7--5--|------------------------|
|--------------|------------------------|
|--7--6--4--2--|---5--4--5--7--5--4--5--|
|--------------|------------------------|
|--------------|------------------------|
Main riff/verse riff: (takes a while to get used to the fingering)
A B C# E C# B A
|--------------------------12----------------------------|
|--10-10-12-12-14-14-14-14----14-14-12-12-10-10-10-10----|
|--------------------------9-----------------------------|
|--7--7--9--9--11-11-11-11----11-11-9--9--7--7--7--7-----|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
|--------------------------------------------------------|
just before
the chorus
play this note
twice then go
straight into
the A chord Chourus chords:
C# A B D A A6? (not sure, could be called Asus)
|-----------|--------------2-------------|
|-----------|--2-----------3-----2---3---|
|--6--6-----|--2-----4-----2-----2---2---|
|-----------|--2-----4-----------2---2---|
|-----------|--------2-------------------|
|-----------|----------------------------|
Lyrics from the last half of the song:
(play riff 1 twice)
(play riff 2 twice)
Main riff:
A B C#
Once we walked together
E C# B A
>From the field up to the hill
Promised love forever
I remember that day still
It's because I love you
I'll come home to you one day
It's because I love you
In my thoughts you'll always stay
(C# note twice)
Chorus: (repeats around a dozen times then fades out)
A A6 B D A A6
Oooooo Do what you wanna do, be what you wanna be, yeah
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official MASTERS APPRENTICES tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
