Modest Mouse: She Ionizes And Atomizes (from "This Is
A Long Drive For Someone With Nothing To Think About)
tabbed by Chark deTweak (Boy_Bands_Suck@yourmom.com)
(To get a cool effect, and if you're bored when the
guitar's not playing, play the bass part for the two
octave effect. Or else, play the guitar part again.)
Start on this chord when the bass has its solo.
E|(10)|
B|(10)|
G|-10-| Start on high muted e and downstroke. Then slide down.
D|-9--| This chord is repeated at times in the song, but it not
A|----| extremely important. Also, I'm sure I probably got it wrong.
E|----|
After bass plays its riff 3x, play:
E|---------------------------------------|
B|--------------------------9-11-9-------|
G|--------------------10-11--------------|
D|8(9)-9-9-8(9)-8-8-8--------------11-8-9|
A|---------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------|
And then whenever the guitar comes in.
(Usually afer he stops singing)
Then at the fast part:
E|----------------------------------------------------------------|
B|11(12)-12-12-12-12-11-11-11-11(16)-16-16-16-16-16-14-14-14-14-14|
G|----------------------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------------|
A|----------------------------------------------------------------|
E|----------------------------------------------------------------|
Then at the end and fade out:
E|------------------------------|
B|------------------------------|
G|------------------------------|
D|8-9-11-8-9-11-8-9-11-6-6-6(8)6|
A|------9------9------9---------|
E|------------------------------|
Repeat as needed
PLEASE let me know if I got something wrong (i.e.
please give me the correct chord at the beginning if
you get it. It would be greatly appreciated).
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official MODEST MOUSE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
