roll the pick down the strings
lyrics
verse 1-Tell your friends not to think outloud, until they swallow.
Whisper things into my brain, your voice sounds so hollow.
I am not a leader of men, since I prefer to follow.
Do you think I could ever drink, since it's so hard to swallow?
yeah, so hard to swallow
verse 2-Turn your television off, and I will sing a song.
And if you suddenly have the urge, well you can sing along.
I touch your hands, touch your face, I think the fruit is rotten.
Give me lessons on how to breathe, cause I think I've forgotten.
yeah, think I've forgotten
verse 3-oooh, Wandering out to a cliff, that overlooks the water.
I dreamed, I'd see a girl, she was somebody's daughter.
But now rain, is on my head, was given to me by her.
And in this dream we all sit around, and dream of ways to get higher.
yeah, to get much higher
verse 4-same as verse 1
h=hammer on
This is the acoustic version of the song. I don't know if it's the same as the other, I've
only heard the other one once before, and wasn't really paying attention to what they
played.
Song order is as follows:
intro-rhy fig 1
verse 1-fig2(gtr 1) and fig 3(gtr 2)
chorus-rhy fig 5
verse 2-rhy fig 2(gtr 1) and rhy fig 4(gtr 2)
chorus-rhy fig 5
between verse 2&3-rhy fig 6
verse 3-rhy fig 7
between verse 3 and 4-rhy fig 1
verse 4-rhy fig 7
ending-rhy fig 8, then ending
All of these are chords. It comes out as picking, but it's not. It's all 2 strings at a time. I don't know why the tabs came
out like this, but it should be an E G D E, then G A chord progression throughout the whole song basically. There isn't any
independent picking in the verse.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official NICKELBACK tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
