SONG: The Garbageman
ARTIST: No Odd Reason
ALBUM: International Dateline (1998, Toolshed Recordings)
Tabbed by: Daniel Field (no_odd_reason@hotmail.com)
Song written by: Jon Meyer and Daniel Field
Lyrics by: Daniel Field
This is a VERY simple song. It has only about four chords in it and
is really really catchy. Like I Know and No Brain, it's a few simple
riffs constructed together to make a song. It's played with a light
distortion.
Intro: (after resting four bars)

B|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|-----------------|U

REPEAT X2
The whole verse is on a G.
Words:
He wakes up at 4 a.m.
Just to do his job.
He isn't a poor guy.
But he isn't a slob.
Prechorus:
F G
Leave your bags out he'll do the rest,
F
For a living he does his best,
G
He doesn't like it but he gets payed
So he can live life his own way.
Chorus: Riff A with these lyrics:
Have sympathy
For the garbageman
He does what he should
So lets give him a hand.
Verse 2:
He ain't got a social life
'Cause he smells real bad,
He's got no real family,
So it makes him real sad.
Then you go to the prechorus, then the chorus, then it starts all over
again. After that there's a bridge. It goes:

Repeat X2
Then the chorus again.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official NO ODD REASON tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
