Cast No Shadow by Oasis
At first, I had nightmares working out the chords for this beautiful song,
but then I watched Noel perform it live, on his own, and even though I
didn't watch his hands, the inspiration came.
-------
Cast No Shadow
A7sus4
Here's a thought for every man who tries to understand
G
what is in his hands (what's in his hands)
He walks along the open road of love and life, surviving if he can
Em D C G
But with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
But with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
Em D C
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow
G A7sus4 C Em-D
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
As they took his soul they stole his pride
Em D C
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow
Here's a thought for every man who tries to understand
G
what is in his hands (what's in his hands)
He walks along the open road of love and life,
surviving if he can (but only if he can)
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
chained to all the places that he never wished to stay
Bound with all the weight of all the words he tried to say
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow
As they took his soul they stole his pride (x3)
As he faced the sun he cast no shadow (x4)
(ends on a C-G)

Cast No Shadow, written by Noel Gallagher, performed by Oasis.
Song can be found on the album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?"
The chords I have listed differ from those listed in the official guitar
book for the album (WTS)MG?, because, as is the case with many
transcriptions in Oasis' "official" guitar books, I think the one in the
book is not quite accurate.

Questions, Comments, Requests to swede@email.unc.edu
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official OASIS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
