I WANNA SEE OKA EVERYWHERE by Propagandhi
this is a tab and words of a rare song off of a 10 inch vinyl split of
propagandi and i*spy called "I’d rather be flag burning!" it’s also, as far
as picking goes, one of their hardest songs. this record was released when
they were still on their own G-7 Welcoming Committee record label. They are
currently on Fat Wreck-chords.

now drums and bass play alone while chris sings:
but this song’s not about some romantic account of history, it’s not about
martyrs or mythos or heroes
or burnings in effigy. it’s about a native kid flipping her wig to try to
keep some self-respect in tact.
it’s about an oka who raised her fist in resistance, and a will to fight
back!

the girls at work, they still deny their racism. they claim tolerance for
all, but it seems the degree of only
racial slurs as their gauge defines tolerance as hate. and there’s
27-million girls at work here. imagine fighting that 500 years.
verse2
And golly gee! how valiant! how the white oppressor makes allowance for the
calculated gestures of
insurgence tightly tethered to their purses. oka had this orchestra
aborted. oka f***ed the rules to choose a future self-determined. i

and the best thing i think i ever said, was ‘if a Kevin Costner cavalry is
your means to their ends, then the struggle is dead.’ why do we pretend
approval is upon what they depend?
any questions, e-mail brian at hinz0029@tc.umn.edu
i also take requests if you want me to tab any other propagandhi song
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official PROPAGANDHI tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
