Progression:
(Intro)
(Verse Riff 1)x5 with lyrics:
You and I, we are strangers by one chromosome,
slave to the hormone, body and soul,
in a struggle to be happy and free,
swimming in a primitive sea
(Verse Riff 2)x1 with lyrics:
You and I, we must dive below the surface
(Verse Riff 1)x2 with lyrics:
A world of red neon and ultra-maroon
(Verse Riff 1)x1 with lyrics:
Shinning bridges on the ocean floor, reaching
to the alien shore
(Verse Riff 2)x1
(Pre-chorus)x8 with lyrics:
For you and me, for you and me, for you and me
sex is not a competition,
for you and me,
sex is not a job description,
for you and me, we agree
(Verse Riff 1)x4 with lyrics:
You and I, we are pressed
into these solitude's,
color and culture,
language and race,
just variations on a theme,
islands in a much larger stream
(Verse Riff 2)x1 with lyric:
Yeah
(Pre-chorus)x6 with lyrics:
For you and me, race is not a competition,
for you and me, race is not a definition,
for you and me, we agree
(Chorus)x3 with lyrics:
Reaching for the alien shore,
reaching for the alien shore,
reaching for the alien shore
(Intro)
(Solo)
(Verse Riff 3)x2
(Verse Riff 3)x8 with lyrics:
You and I, we reject these narrow attitudes,
we add to each other,
like a coral reef,
building bridges on the ocean floor,
reaching for the alien shore
(Pre-chorus)x10 with lyrics:
For you and me, sex is not a competition,
for you and me, race is not a definition,
for you and me, we hold these truths to be self-evident,
for you and me, we elect the job of president,
for you and me, we might agree
(Chorus)x3 with lyrics:
But that's just us, reaching for the alien shore,
but that's just us, reaching for the alien shore,
but that's us, reaching for the alien shore,
but that's just us
(1st half of Chorus) then lyrics:
Reaching for the alien shore
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official RUSH tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
