Title: Summer
This is the chord Progression and lyrics to my favorite band. all leads
should be played on a D pentatonic scale. Drew has a really cool
harmonica part I'll try to transcribe that much later it's too hard.
enjoy this song. These guys rock
G C G Am Em D5 C
G C G Am Em D5 C
G C
Sipping wine in the august rain
G Am
watching our lives go down the drain
Em D5
Hoping that we'd both keep sane
C
somehow
G C
As we drifted down a distant shore
G Am
Our dreams were lived but I wanted more
Em D5
I wish that she could hear me sing
C
right now
G C
Summer came and left again
G Am
I staggered by her until the end
Em D5
She said we'd always still be friends
C
But I guess that's how it goes
(How it goes)
G C
I cannot seem to understand
G Am
Why she left me crashing without her hand
Em D5
I wrote her name out in the sand
C
but it's gone
G C
The waves came racing in so high
G Am
I never even said goodbye
Em D5
They say that consience never lies
C
but that's all I have left of you
(All I have left of you)
G C
Summer came and left again
G Am
I staggered by her until the end
Em D5
She said we'd always still be friends
C
But I guess that's how it goes
(How it goes)
G C G Am Em D5 C
Guitar Solo
Verse one repeated end on G
*The Sand Docks are from Big Rapdis Michigan....also check out their
friends Loose County Road Commission at www.wgrd.com and look up local
bands you get to their cool site pretty easily.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SANDDOCKS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
