A Little Too Far
C
Do you remember? Look at me.
Em
At all the things we'd said we'd be.
Am
We'd beat the house we'd push the odds.
F
We'd take it all we had the cards.
C
With years to burn and years to trash.
Em
Livin' life based on flash.
Am
But somehow reaching for the stars.
F D E C (these last 3 are notes not chords)
I think we went a bit too far.
(Chorus)
C Dm Em
Got to get back. Got to get back. Got to get back.
F G C
I never meant to take it this far.
C Dm Em F G
Got to get back. Got to get back. Got to get back.
(Verse 2)
When everything you touch turns gold.
Can weigh you down. Can make you old.
When metal doesn't ring the same.
Reaction from inside your brain.
And all the years we offered up.
To gods who couldn't get enough.
Though we still stay up all night.
The mornings aren't as quite as bright.
(Repeat Chorus)
(Verse 3)
And all those things we thought we learned.
As we watch our bridges burn.
While standing in the after glow.
I guess we gave them quite a show.
But who's to say what it's about.
When John Wayne caught the last train out.
And Spock and Kirk have had enough.
And no one's left to beam me up.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SAVATAGE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
