Official SAVES THE DAY Tablature & Sheet Music »
around a 3 or 4. Anyway..heres the tab.
*=listen to cd for how long to play, I'm too lazy to write numbers too many times
h=hammer(If you don't know what that is you dont deserve to play Saves the Day)
^=let note ring with note you hit after it
#=pause(silence)
~ = let note ring.
Listen at just about where Chris is done saying "I'll
carry this piece of you with me" for when drum and bass come in.
Bass does this.
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------4-3----------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
This is the first verse.
G|----------------------------------------Vnot a hammer!-------------------|
D|-------------------------------------6-5---------------------------------|
A|--------4h3-4*-4h3----3h4-6*---------------------------------------------|
E|--1*---------------4*----------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--3*-3-------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-6*--4-3---------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
You come to this mellower part. I like playing this part
because the bass really sticks out. Make sure you listen
to this CD at this part cuz it is really confusing just looking at it.
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------3-44-33-11-22-----66-44-3-4-66-44-33-11----------------------------|
E|--1*----------------44---------------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------3-44-33-11-22-----66-44-3-4-66-44-33-44----------------------------|
E|--1*----------------44---------------------------------------------------|
Which takes you to the second verse, alot like the first but longer
and different at the end.
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------6-5---------------------------------|
A|--------4h3-4*-4h3----3h4-6*---------------------------------------------|
E|--1*---------------4*----------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6---------------------------------------------------------------|

A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-6*--6-5---------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--3*--3------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-6*--6-5---------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|

D|--3*--3----------------------------55-66---8-----------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-66--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
Then you break into the best part, the chorus.
This lines alot like the one in the mellower part
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|----------------------------------------------------------8^-------------|
A|-------------44-33-11-33-----66-44-33---6666^-666------------------------|

E|-11---11----------------------44-----------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|

A|------------------44-33-11-33----66-44-33---6~ -------4-3----------------|
E|-11---11----------------------44-----------------------------------------|
Verse 3, this is exactly like verse 2
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------6-5---------------------------------|
A|--------4h3-4*-4h3----3h4-6*---------------------------------------------|
E|--1*---------------4*----------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--3*--3------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-6*--6-5---------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6---------------------------------------------------------------|
D|--3*--3------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-6*--6-5---------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
G|---------6-------------------------------8^------------------------------|
D|--3*--3----------------------------55-66---8-----------------------------|
A|-------------4*-4h3----3h4-66--------------------------------------------|
E|--------------------4*---------------------------------------------------|
Chorus: This ones got one difference than the first, in the ending
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------------8^------------------|
A|-------------44-33-11-33-----66-44-33---6666^-666------------------------|
E|-1h3-1#-------------------44---------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----3-----3-------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------44-33-11-33-----66-44-33---66666666--------------------|
E|-11---11----------------------44-----------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----------------------------------------------------8^------------------|
A|-------------44-33-11-33-----66-44-33---6666^-666------------------------|
E|-1h3-1#------------------44----------------------------------------------|
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-----3-----3-------------------------------------------------------------|
A|------------------44-33-11-33----66-44-33---6~ --------------------------|
E|-11---11----------------------44-----------------------------------------|
The bass then plays this, listen closely for it
G|---------7-888888888 (count 1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-1 for the 8)-----------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
Outro part:
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------3*--------------------------------------------------------|
A|-----------4*------6*----------------------------------------------------|
E|---4*-3*-----------------------------------------------------------------|
You play that 4 times, I get bored with this line so I throw in little things
to jazz it up alittle. This is what I play. It all 8th notes
G|-----------------------------------------------6----------------8--------|
D|-------------------------------------------------6---6-3-3-3-3----8------|
A|-------------3-4--------------6-4-3-4-4-4-4-4------------------6----6----|
E|-4-4-4-4-4-6-----3-3-3-3-3-----------------------------------------------|
That also you would just play four times, afte four times do this.
G|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A|--------3-4--------------------------------------------------------------|
E|---11--------------------------------------------------------------------|
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP, representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are "hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the official SAVES THE DAY tablature which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route. These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the NY Times Article. We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
