The Walk
Recorded By: Sawyer Brown
Written By: Mark Miller
D A D G
Down our long dusty driveway, I didn't want to go
D G A
But I set out with tears in my eyes a wondering
D A D G
Daddy took me by the hand, looked out at the schoolbus and his little
man and said
D A G A
Don't worry boy, it will be alright
chorus
A G D G D G
Cause I took this walk you're walking now boy, I've been in your shoes
D G
A
You can't hold back the hands of time, it's just something you've got to
do
G D G A
So dry your eyes, I understand just what you're going through
G D G D
Cause I took this same walk with my old man boy, I've been in your shoes
Down our long dusty driveway, my mind set to go
I was eighteen, wild and free, and a wondering
Daddy took me by the hand, looked out at the world and his grown man and
said
Don't worry boy, it will be alright
chorus
Down our long dusty driveway, this time we both would go
He had grown old and gray, and his mind was wondering
Daddy took me by the hand, and said I know where we're going and I
understand
Don't worry boy, it will be alright
Chorus
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SAWYER BROWN tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
