*** The bass for the above is simply playing the root note of each
chord (if the chord is a C, play a C; if the chord is a C-, play a C).
(If you don't what notes are what, e-mail me and I will give you a
*quick* theory lesson... this offer for a short time only!)

Hold the next two measures then repeat all 8 measures (the above 6 + the 2)
for the next half a verse. Notice that what's going on is the final note
in a lot of the measures are "anticipations", that is, the bass note for the
following measure is played a half-beat ahead.

actually, the bass doesn't really play the top notes (B A A B C),
some woodwind does, but if you're playing alone, then it sounds
better this way.

"I think Philip Roth is a great writer, but I wouldn't want to shake his hand."
- Jacqueline Susann
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SISTERS OF MERCY tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
