Title: The One
Artist: SOiL
Tuning: Drop D
Tabbed By: defstance13 [Matt Albrecht]
Yeah, the song isn't actually in drop D -- the guitarists
use baritone guitars -- but for those of us out there who aren't
that special this is the drop D verson. I'm positive that it's
about 95% correct; I'm unsure about the chords in the chorus.
Other than that, there shouldn't be any mistakes.

KEY:
x = palm mute
/ = slide up
d/u = strum down/up
s = stacatto
h = hammer on
p = pull off
INTRO: Clean
There are a few ways to play this,
but this meathod seems the easiest:
[D9] [F?][Bb5]
e|----------------------------------|
B|--3--3-3-3-3/5--------------------|
G|--2--2-2-2-2/4--3--3-3-3-3-3-3-3--| X4
D|--0--0-0-0-0/0--3--3-3-3-3-3-3-3--|
A|----------------1--1-1-1-1-1-1-1--|
D|----------------------------------|
d d u d u d u d u d u d u
The other way to play the intro
looks like this:
[D5] [F5][Bb5]
e|----------------------------------|
B|----------------------------------|
G|--8--8-8-8-8-10-3--3-3-3-3-3-3-3--| X4
D|--8--8-8-8-8-10-3--3-3-3-3-3-3-3--|
A|--5--5-5-5-5/8--1--1-1-1-1-1-1-1--|
D|----------------------------------|
d d u d u d u d u d u d u
Pick whichever one you like, they both
sound very similar, although personally
I find the top version to be easier.

CHORUS: Distortion
I'm unsure about the last six chords.
I know that i can hear the notes in there,
but I'm just not sure if it's a chord or
something that the other guitar does.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SOIL tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
