SOULFLY - "Seek "N" Strike" Tablature
Official SOULFLY Tablature & Sheet Music »
BAND: Soulfly
SONG: Seek "N" Strike
ALBUM: 3
TABBED BY: James "Jammy" Munro
Hay! Now I'm certain about the tuning, I'm pretty sure it's correct seeing as
Soulfly usually tune this way. This tab sounds correct when it's played along
with the CD, however I'm not entirely sure this is how Max and the rest of
the band play this song. But it sounds pretty near anyway!
TUNING: 6th 5th 4th 3rd 2nd 1st
B F# B E G# C#
/////// = strumming
p = pull off
b = bend
INTRO (MAIN RIFF)
when I was watching the video I noticed Max playing this riff pretty much
like this.
C# -------------------
G# -------------------
E ------------------- X4
B -------------------
F# -------------------
B 1-0-1-0-0-3-0-1-0-0
VERSE
i'm not sure wheather they actually play the bar chords...they might just play it the
same as the intro.
C# -------------------
G# -------------------
E -------------------
B 1-0-1-0-0-3-0-1-0-0 Play throughout the VERSE
F# 1-0-1-0-0-3-0-1-0-0
B 1-0-1-0-0-3-0-1-0-0
then......
C# ----------------------------
G# ----------------------------
E ----------------------------
B 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-//// X4 Play each chord 4 times
F# 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-////
B 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-////
Then it's back to the VERSE.....so play the VERSE part up to the BRIDGE that leads to
the CHORUS.
Then play this riff again....this is the BRIDGE
C# ----------------------------
G# ----------------------------
E ---------------------------- X4
B 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-////
F# 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-////
B 3-////-6-////-7-////-10-////
CHORUS
Now I have to admit this part I had to get from someonelse so much respect to a guy
called Shawn Payne!
C# ---------------------------------
G# ---------------------------------
E --------------------------------- X8
B -------------------------9-10-///
F# -------------------------9-10-///
B 6-0-6-0-6-0-6-0-6-0-6-0--9-10-///
Then the MAIN RIFF is played 4 times
Now the VERSE part needs to be played again
Then the BRIDGE
Then the VERSE part again
Then the BRIDGE is played 4 times
Now the CHORUS is played 8 times
Then this is played
this part is all PALM MUTED
C# -----
G# -----
E -----
B 00004 X8
F# 00004
B 00004
Then this part is played all the way to the end of the song
C# ---------
G# ---------
E ---------
B ---------
F# ---------
B 0-0-0-4p3
Now at somepoint a solo is played over the riff being played, so here is
my attempt at how i think the solo is played......
you have to let each note ring........listen to the song for how long to do so
C# 18---16---15---11---12---9---17---16---11---16---15---18---11---12---14-----
G# -------------------------------------------------------------------------22b
E ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
F# ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
B ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SOULFLY tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
