Subject: Beyond the Wheel by Soundgarden
Here's the Beyond the Wheel Tab, sent by me, Dave Nailling.
Beyond the Wheel
By Soundgarden off the album Ultramega OK.
Dropped D Tuning (D, A, D, G, B, e)
(Intro and verse part)
e------------I
B------------I
G------------I
D--0----(5)--I
A--0----(5)--I
D--0----(5)--I
NOTE: The numbers in parenthesis are NOT fretted. I think they're
tapped harmonics. To get them to sound right, play the first three open
strings and lightly tap those same strings across the fith fret. Play this a
lot during the intro and verse.
(Chorus(?) part)
e------------------------------------------------------I
B------------------------------------------------------I
G------------------------------------------------------I
D--0----0----5----5-6---6-5---------6-5-3-0-3-5-6-5--I
A--0----0----5----5-6---6-5---------6-5-3-0-3-5-6-5--I
D--0----0----5----5-6---6-5---------6-5-3-0-3-5-6-5--I
NOTE: The last time this is played, do not play the last two
chords. Go right into the Post chorus.
(Post chorus)
e-------------------------I
B-------------------------I
G-------------------------I
D--6----5----3--5--3--0--I
A--6----5----3--5--3--0--I
D--6----5----3--5--3--0--I
NOTE: After playing the above three times, only play the first
three chords for the fourth time. During the next verse, play the Chorus(?)
part. For the verse after that, play the Chorus(?) part, but substitute the
second set of chords with a bunch of pick scrapes. Then comes the
solo......Just play a D pentatonic, and strum behind the bridge if you can.
As for the rhythm guitar, play the exact thing that was played under the
last verse mentioned above. Finally, end the song with this:
(Ending)
e-------------------I
B-------------------I
G-------------------I
D--6------5------3--I
A--6------5------3--I
D--6------5------3--I
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SOUNDGARDEN tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
