STABBING WESTWARD - "so far away2" Tablature
Official STABBING WESTWARD Tablature & Sheet Music »
Artist: Stabbing Westward
Song Title: So Far Away
Album: Stabbing Westward
Released: 2001
Contact: Zippo8822@aol.com
Based on a tab by wnc_master@hotmail.com
The following is based, for the mostpart, off of an extremely
accurate tab by another guitar player, whose address is
above. I only tied up some loose ends on here and added a few
things and notes of my own.
On the surface...very easy song. But when you throw those
background riffs in, it can become a real pain very quickly.
Many of the background riffs, especially Guitar 2's outro,
are synthesizers, but everything is transcribed to the guitar.

Guitar 2 - Clean
The clean electric plays a slightly modified Amin chord
throughout the entire intro. Use your pinkie finger to mute
your high E string, as it does not ring in the song. Listen
to the song for rhythm.
Note: This is NOT an acoustic guitar. I watched the band play
it live and is in fact, a clean electric.

Lyrics:
Verse 1:
Each night I feel the distance that has grown between us,
Open up as lonely as the space between the stars.
I wish that I could find a way to smash my fists right
Through these walls of ugliness, and emptiness,
And gently touch your face.
Chorus:
But every time that I touch you, you feel so far away.
And every time that you need me, I feel so far away.
Verse 2:
As you lay silently beside me, choking back your tears,
I wonder if you recognize that silence now defines us.
Desperately I try to fight this overwhelming sense that I
May never find the strength to change how hopeless we've
Become.
Chorus:
And every time that I touch you, you feel so far away.
And every time that you need me, I feel so far away.
And I feel so far away!
(Feel so far away. I feel so far and far away.)
Bridge:
We need to find a way to break this silence...
We need to find a way to break this silence...
We need to find a way to break this silence, that's between
Us, so I scream your name, I scream your name.
I scream your name! I scream your name!
Chorus:
But every time that I touch you, you feel so far away.
And every time that you need me, you feel so far away.
And every time that you reach out, to feel me pull away, yeah.
And every time that I touch you, I touch you, I touch you...
To feel so far away!
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP, representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are "hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the official STABBING WESTWARD tablature which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route. These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the NY Times Article. We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
