This song is relatively easy to play. I have seen this song written many different ways, but being a perfectionist, I believe I have the right way to play it. (Not saying I’m ‘perfect’ though). The song starts at (on the regular CD) -17:09-
Riff.1

B ||---------------------------|--------------------------|---------------------------|---------------------------|

A ||------2--------------2-----|-------2-------------2----|-------2--------------2----|-------2--------------2----|
E ||---0-----------------------|---0----------------------|---0-----------------------|---0-----------------------|

Play all of that five times End Riff.1
Chorus
(Riff.2[to make it easier])

A ||---0-----------------------|---0-----------------------|---3----------------------|---3----------------------|
E ||---------------------------|---------------------------|--------------------------|--------------------------|
Play this twice End Riff.2
Next play:

B ||---------------------------|--------------------------|---------------------------|---------------------------|
G ||--------------0------------|--------------0-----------|---------------0-----------|--------------0------------|

A ||------2--------------2-----|-------2-------------2----|-------2--------------2----|-------2--------------2----|
E ||---0-----------------------|---0----------------------|---0-----------------------|---0-----------------------|
Then play Riff.1 four times.
Afterwards, play Riff.2 (play it twice as said above)
After all of this is done play:

I thought it sounded good)

Let ring
That’s the end of the song! You did it!
Now the lyrics
Verse 1
Well I know the words
But I can’t really speak them
To you
And I hide all the pain
That I gained with my wisdom
From you
And I’m eaten alive
By what I hold inside
All the things that I live with
I can’t easily hide
And I’m left here with nothing
Nothing to live for
But you
Chorus
It’s not easy to hide
All this damage inside
I carry it with me
Until I’m not alive
Verse 2
When you look at my face
Does it seem just as ugly
To you
And I can’t seem to erase
All the scars that I’ve lived with
From you
I’m so sick of this place
And this taste in my mouth
Cause of you I can’t figure
What I’m all about
And I’m left here with nothing
Nothing to live for
But you
Chorus
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official STAIND tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
