Official STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Tablature & Sheet Music »
Artist: Stone Temple Pilots
Song: Art School Girl
Album: Tiny Music...
Music by: Robert DeLeo
Lyrics by: Scott Weiland
Tuning: EADGBE
Tabbed by: Cody Morrison
E-mail: codymorrison@hotmail.com
Notes: I was looking over the other tabs available, and while they
have the chords in the intro correct, they way they are played isn't
right. I sat down and listened to the song a few times, and got it
right. I'm confident this is 100% correct. This is one of the
easier STP songs to play.
Key:
x - mute
/ - slide
Intro/Verse:
E --------------------------------------
B --------------------------------------
G -x--9-/-11--x-x--9--9--9--9--9---9----
D -x--9-/-11--x-x--9--9--9--9--9---9---- x6
A -x--7-/--9--x-x--7--7--6--6--6-/-7----
E --------------------------------------
After that is played 6 times, Dean does some mutes quickly...I
couldn't count how many times. Then that riff is played again
untill the chorus...
I found two ways to play the chorus. Couldn't decide which one
sounds better. You pick.
Chorus:
E --------------------
B --------------------
G --------------------
D -2--4--2--4--2---7--
A -2--4--2--4--2---7--
E -0--2--0--2--0---5--
or
E --------------------
B --------------------
G --------------------
D -3--5--3--5--3---8--
A -3--5--3--5--3---8--
E -1--3--1--3--1---6--
And, I don't have the solo. I someone would like to donate the
solo, that would be groovy.
Lyrics:
I gotta girlfriend, she goes to art school
I gotta art school girlfriend yeah
I gotta girlfriend, she gotta girlfriend
We gotta girlfriend, girlfriend gotta go
She left her home from sweet Alabama
Rose Alabama for the city, New york City yeah
I told you five or four times
I gotta girlfriend, she goes to parties
Underground parites, Andy Warhol everywhere
She wears leather, I wear the makeup
We'll never break up, been together for a month
She left her home from sweet Alabama
Rose Alabama for the city, New York City yeah
I told you five or four times
Well, that's it, enjoy.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official STONE TEMPLE PILOTS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
