ATLANTA BY STONE TEMPLE PILOTS (OFF OF THEIR ALBUM "NO. 4")
This is a great little (if relatively unknown) acoustic number from STP
This is solely my own interpretation. I sat down at the piano, played along
with the album and figured out all the chords and then translated them to a
guitar format.
3/4 time in key of (you're gunna love this!) E aeolian, then A dorian, then
F# locrian (all part of the key of G major)
intro and verse
|: E major / / | F# minor / / |
| G major / / | F# minor / / :| first X2 with no vocals
Switch to A dorian mode for Chorus:
|: A minor / / | D Dsus4 D |
| C major / / | D Dsus4 D :|
Back to E aeolian for Verse:
|: E major / / | F# minor / / |
| G major / / | F# minor / / :|
Switch to A dorian mode for Chorus:
|: A minor / / | D Dsus4 D |
| C major / / | D Dsus4 D :|
Switch to F# locrian mode for Bridge:
| F# minor / / | E major / / |
| C# minor / / | D major / / |
| F# minor / / | G major / / |
| E major / / | D major / / |
| E major / / | E major / / |
| A# major / / | D major / / |
| E major / / | E major / / |
| F major / / | F E D |
| E major (let ring) |
Switch to A dorian mode for Chorus:
|: A minor / / | D Dsus4 D |
| C major / / | D Dsus4 D :|First X2, arpeggio with no

Enjoy!

"Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty
manifestly endangered, the people may, and of right ought to reform
the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance
against arbitrary power and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and
destructive of the good and happiness of mankind."
-New Hampshire Constitution, Article 10 [Right of Revolution]
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official STONE TEMPLE PILOTS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
