SUGAR RAY - "answer the phone" Tablature
Official SUGAR RAY Tablature & Sheet Music »
I think this is pretty close to how the song is played...
The intro is just based on the progression (A E F#m D)
As far as I can tell, it's pretty much the same 4 cords thru the whole song.
(Verse1)
A
We're on this roller coaster ride
E
Hold on I'll stay here by your side
F#m
We head up to the sky
D
Then we slide back down
A
Upside down tryin' to figure out
E
Not sure if we could work it out
F#m
I want to be alone
D
But you feel like home
(Chorus)
A
Answer the phone
E
I know that you're home
F#m
I want to get you alone
D
And do it again do it again
A
Answer the phone
E
I know that you're home
F#m
I want to get you alone
D
And do it again do it again
(Verse2)
The signals all are flashin' red
It doesn't matter what was said
This bed is much too big
Without me and you
This all seems so ridiculous
Why can't we just get over this?
Don’t make me say the obvious
Without you.
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
A E F#m D
I practice all my lines thru a telephone while you were sleeping
I practice all my lines thru a telephone while you were sleeping
I practice all my lines thru a telephone while you were sleeping
(Intro riff)
I remember the way you curled your toes
On the side of the stage at all our shows
And the glow on your face just because of one rose
And when I wake up in the morning and you're wearing my clothes
(Chorus)

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SUGAR RAY tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
