Subject: Alright/Supergrass
Album: I Should Coco
Right, I was beaten to it with the last one but nobody's done this yet although
it should by now be in great demand. Thanks a lot for the Caught By The Fuzz
transcription Mark (sorry, I can't do this E-mailing business too good yet)
Please note that " || " is what I'm using to indicate a sharp because I
can't do anything more accurate than that it seems.
Alright.
Intro: D
Verse : D
We are young, we run free, keep our teeth, nice and clean
Em(7) -he varies it D
See our friends, see the sights, we feel alright
Chorus: F ||m F
Are we like you , oh I can't be sure
Em(7) A
But you see, as she turns, we are strange, in our worlds but we are...
Return to verse pattern.I'm not so sure about the lyrics in the chorus but the
rest is pretty straight forward. Basslines.......
Over the D
e ------------------------------|
B------------------------------|
G------------------------------| 1 Bar
D-----------------4---------7-|
A---5--------5----------------|
E-------------------------------|
Over the Em(7)
e ------------------------------|
B------------------------------|
G----------------------------4--| 1 Bar
D-----------------5-----------|
A---7--------7----------------|
E-------------------------------|
I think just the lowest note of each chord is played for the rest of
the bassline.....probably.
The Solo:
Notes off a G blues scale I think, something like this to begin with
anyway.....
e-----------------------------------------------------------------
B-----------------------------------------------------------------
G----------------------------------5--5-55--3-----------------
D------------------------3-----------------------5-3-----------
A----------------5--3--------5-----------------------3--------
E--(6)-----------------------------------------------------------
It then gets a bit too messy for me to handle- make it up or work it out
yourselves if you must (send it along!).
The funny sort of Hawaiin(spelling?) bit is similar to this.....
e-----------------------------------|
B-----------------------------------|
G-----------------------b~~~~---| 1 Bar (but played 4 times over D.)
D-------------12--14-------------|
A---12--14-----------------------|
E-----------------------------------|
e---------------------------------|
B---------------------------------|
G----------------------b~~~~--| Played twice over Em(7)
D-------------12--12----------|
A---12--14--------------------|
E--------------------------------|
For some reason I cannot truly find the notes for this solo but this is what
I'm playing . I'm also not sure about the bass and piano chords over the first
section of the solo and I'd welcome additions/improvements. I'll attempt
some more if I get a response for this but it makes me nervous when I see a
transciption that's different to mine (see Big Me:Foo Fighters), so
mail me please.....
Oh yeah, I'm sorry if these things are messy when you get them because
they start out really tidy and seem to disintegrate somewhere along the line
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official SUPERGRASS tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
