Drop D (DADGBe)
INTRO (RIFF A)
D--10-10-10-10-8-8-7-7-----------------|
A--------------------------------------|
D----------------------0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-|
FOLLOWED BY
D--10-10-10-10-8-8-12-------------------|
A---------------------------------------|
D---------------------0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-|
The intro riff is played through almost the entire song
(This is one of the only 3 Tallman songs using 2 guitars)
Jay plays the intro, Paul plays the heavy stuff.
RIFF B
G-5-7-------------------------|
D-5-7-8*--8-8-8--8-7-5-3-5-0*-|
A-3-5-8*--8-8-8--8-7-5-3-5-0*-|
D-----8*--8-8-8--8-7-5-3-5-0*-| X2
Then the intro riff is played a few times with distortion
And then again, RIFF B.
Let the distortion fade out then:
Riff A again, with distortion, no open notes.
One note is played an extra time.
I can hear this riff for the chorus, but it's only
one of two of the guitar parts:
RIFF C
D-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-0*-|
A-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-0*-|
D-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-8-0*-|
Then Riff B
At 5:53 there's this really neat palm mute:
D-5-3-0--5--3--0-|
A-5-3-0--5--3--0-|
D-5-3-0--5--3--0-|
. . . . . . <-palm mute
RIFF C
The song goes out on this part:
D-10-10-10-10-8-8-7-7---10-10-10-10-10-8-8-0*-|
A---------------------------------------------|
D---------------------------------------------|
Like in A Darker Whole, paul plucks the strings above the nut.
I'm pretty sure this is what he plays:
e-X-X-X-X-------|
B---------X-----|
G-----------X---|
D---------------|
A-------------X-|
D---------------|
I think you can play the last note here on either D, A or D.
Great song, one of the first I ever learned to play.
Awesome song live. This tab is at least 90% right,
but if you have any questions/corrections,
you can email me: madaemanon@yahoo.com.
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official TALLMAN tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
