TAYLOR JAMES - "fire and rain2" Tablature
Official TAYLOR JAMES Tablature & Sheet Music »
It was Really annoying how everyone got this wrong. Too play
this song you need a capo on the 3rd fret. Practice the
complicated chords, then play the song. It's a really
good one.
Verse chords:
? 000655
?.000433
D 000232
A 002220
E 022100
G*300032
Chorus chords:
D 000232
D.040232
D*024232
A 002220
G.300003
E*022030
E.002000
The basic pattern for each is:
-Verse:
? ?. D A A E G*
-Chorus:
D D. D* A D D. D* A D D. D* A G. E* E.
If you listen to the CD you can figure out the beginning
(even though your supposed to play it this way the whole
way through.) All below is approximate timing. It
requires great finger picking skills. Not all of below
is correct...just how i play it so it sounds good. Play
it however you want. This is how it's done:
[ ? ][ ?. ][ D ][ A ]
E----------5----------------3----------2----------0----------0---------
A----5--------5-------3--------3----------3-------2----2-------2-------
D------6---------6------4---------4----------2----2------2-------2-----
G----------------------------------0---0-------------------2-------2---
B----0--------------------------------------------0--------------------
E---------------------0------------------------------------------------
[ A ][ E ] [ G ]
E---------0-----------------------0---------------2----2----------2----2----
A---2--------2--------0----------------0-----------3----3----------3----3---
D-----2---------2-----1------------------0-----0----0----0-----0----0----0--
G---2------------2----------------------------------------------------------
B---------------------2-----------------------------------------------------
E--------------------------0----------------3---------------3---------------
This G is played a different way
in the song but, for playing for
friends...this is the easiest.
At the End of the song before the fade out, the E. is played for a while.
LYRICS:
Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Suzanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to
CHORUS
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
Won't you look down upon me Jesus
You gotta help me make a stand
You just got to see me through another day
My body's achin' and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way
CHORUS
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again
I've been walkin' my mind to an easy time, my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around
But there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground
CHORUS
I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend now
But I always thought that I'd see you baby, one more time again now
ending
Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you
Fire and rain, now
Have fun. It takes a while to play and sing since it's a
relatively hard song. Play it for girls...they melt right
there. Enjoy.

This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official TAYLOR JAMES tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
