THE CURE - "the holy hour" Tablature

Subject: The Holy Hour by The Cure
Here is the bass tab and chords for the Cure song -The Holy Hour- written by
The Cure. It is off of their depressing =faith= album. A friend of mine,
veronica, angst@eden.rutgers.edu, figured out the Em and Am bass progression.
I figured out that it was Am to Em and the F bass portion.
Here is the basic bass part for the chords:
Am Em F
G --------3-3-2-2----------------|-------------------------------|
D -----------------------3-3-2-2-|--------3-3-2-2--------3-3-2-2-|
A -----0-------------------------|-------------------------------|
E -3-3------------3-3-0----------|-3-3-1----------3-3-1----------|
(Basically the verse is just Am to Em and the chorus is F)
I kneel and wait in silence
As one by one the people slip away
Into the night
The quite and empty bodies
Kiss the ground before they pray
Kiss the ground
And slip away
I sit and listen dreamlessly
A promise of salvations makes me stay
Then look at your face
And feel my heart pushed in
As all around the children play
The games they tired of yesterday
They play
They play
I stand and hear my voice
Cry out
A wordless scream at ancient power
It breaks against stone
I softly leave you crying
I cannot hold what you devour
Sacrifice all penance
In the holy hour
This musical interpretation has been removed due to a legal threat from Moses & Singer LLP,
representing the National Music Publishers' Association (NMPA) and
The Music Publisher's Association of the United States (MPA).
Unfortunately, these threats are fueled by greed and being masked by a "copyright infringement." They claim tab sites are
"hurting the songwriters," but it's a known fact that the publishing companies garner most of the
revenue. Instead, they would prefer you to purchase the
official THE CURE tablature
which is an option we've always given our users. And due to the highly error-prone nature of tabs on the internet, many choose to go this route.
These companies also do not realize that tablature sites help to promote their artists.
For more information on this onslaught, you can read the
NY Times Article.
We hope one of the larger tablature sites will have the money to fight this. Until then, we urge you all to keep tabbing songs and sharing them in any way you can.
